Life Lab: Dia De Muertos, Nov 1, 1 – 3 pm
Join us in the Life Lab Garden Classroom for a Día de Muertos gathering for the whole family! We’ll harvest the marigolds planted by summer campers and honor loved ones by building a community ofrenda together. This joyful, reflective celebration weaves nature, tradition, and memory into a vibrant community experience. Activities may include: Scavenger hunt for elements to add to the ofrenda; Poetry activity; Skull prints filled with marigold petals & seeds; Marigold flower harvest for the ofrenda; Paper butterflies with loved ones’ names to add to the ofrenda; Seed packet making with garden-collected seeds; and Garden tour! SC Museum Of Natural History: First Friday - Treasured Trees, Nov 7, 5 - 8 pm
Our Redwoods First Friday will celebrate and explore the wonders and history of our local redwood forests while highlighting the Treasured Trees exhibit. Connect with artists, naturalists, and community partners who work to protect and share the beauty of redwoods.
Cabrillo Horticulture: Home Gardener Days Saturday Program, Nov 8, Dec 13, Jan 21, Mar 14, May 9
The free public lectures will occur in room 5005 for 30 minutes, followed by hands-on gardening skills taught in the Horticulture Department gardens. Tools and necessary gardening materials will be provided by Cabrillo College.
